Today, my teenage daughter faked a suicide because I bought her a Samsung instead of an iPhone for her birthday. FML

I'd take everything out of her room to where tho only things left is a bed and dresser

Faking a suicide cause you didn't get an iphone. **** that. Teach her humility. The world doesn't revolve around her. Also tell her that she won't have ANYTHING but the clothes she was buried in and the worms who will be eating her when she's really dead. See how she feels then. Ungrateful kid.

I am sorry, but I would never be friends with a spoiled kid such as yours. My generation is just so stupid.

Yeah your daughter seems seriously spoiled. Honestly take back the phone and say that she doesn't deserve it. That'll teach her a lesson. If the behavior continues then restrict money and such, make her get a job if she wants to continue spending.

I'll take the Samsung if she didn't want it! :-)

take it away she is obviously not mature enough for a phone

Seems like the only way she'll appreciate anything is if she has to work and earn it herself. I really hope you don't keep buying her things after that.

What would happen if you got her a windows? Actually attempt suicide? (Of course this is an opinion she might have appreciated that)

Jeez! That's so spoiled and selfish! I admit that if I had gotten a different brand of phone I might have been slightly disappointed because I am an Apple girl, but I would say thank you and keep it to myself and ask if I could have an iPhone two years later when the phone plan ran out or if the phone broke, this is just ridiculous! This girl really needs to learn some manners and she might have some issues to deal with if she sees this as worthy of a fake suicide... Nothing is worthy of that!

I didn't get a phone until I was 18 and could pay for it myself, and even though my phone may not be the best, I'm just grateful to have one. Take away your daughter's phone until she learns a lesson about what it means to work for something.
