I agree, 18. Now that I think about it, my parents had one of those spinning globes at home when I was younger, and I loved playing with it and reading it. I'm sure that at least helped my knowledge of geography a bit.
Wait, you KNOW that the UK is apart of Canada, right?!?
Can You Not?
29, please tell me you're being sarcastic. And even then, it's not really funny. If not (because some people seriously don't know their geography and this is the internet and there is no font for sarcasm, you never know), Canada is directly north of the USA. Which is, as the name implies, in America. And the UK is in a different continent, Europe.
29 was making a play on words. Apart, as in separate from, rather than OPs "a part".
#46, I'll resist the urge to call you "Capitain obvious"... it was just a not so funny sarcastic word play :)
Another parent complaining about their child's intelligence and yet do nothing to fix it...
Sorry your daughter isn't good at geography maybe you should get her a tutor or try and help her yourself. But if she finds this FML... you're screwed
YDI. You need to spend more time with her teaching her on the basics
There is a reason some animals eat their young. Consider canceling the channels with reality shows (or blocking them) and trying to get her to watch History channel, Cosmos, Discovery, Nova, Animal Planet, shows on traveling, that sort of thing instead. In the age of the internet, there's no excuse for being that ignorant.
I love geometry! with all the maps and stuff!
Canada IS part of the Commonwealth of Nations and Canadian currency DOES feature the Queen's visage, so I can see why that might confuse her. Also, the word "geometry" sounds very similar to the word "geography." I don't think your daughter is an idiot, OP. Sounds to me like she just needs some things clarified.
Perhaps a dictionary and an atlas?
Do you ever feel like you should take some blame for her ignorance?

Haha dumbass!
Idiots are not exclusive to America.
