Today, my two boys decided to draw in permanent marker on the leather seats of the car I have had up for sale for 3 weeks with no interest. I call my husband to tell him we're going to have to keep it. He just made an appointment with a guy who has cash and is ready to buy it tomorrow. FML

You obviously don't know how to raise kids if they managed to vandalize on the car seats.

You Deserve this. A Car is no place for a child to play. You should of had the doors locked and the keys out of reach. Also assuming they used permanent marker they must be young. How did you not see them head outside with markers open the car and draw inside.

yikes, that sucks.. I'd try a Mr. Clean magic eraser though. Good luck

Who gave the kids the permanent marker?

Um, @ everyone saying the OP needs to control her kids.. What if this happened while she was driving? Is she a bad parent for looking ahead and driving? No. Js.

If your kids are only good as long as youre actually looking directly AT them, you've ******* failed!

Seeing as they are selling the car I am assuming it is outside so people can see it. It's not hard to teach children what they can and can't draw on. To all those saying you can't watch kids 24/7 your right but again teaching them the car isn't a toy or not going in the garage or obviously outside unaccompanied would of prevented this. It's basic parenting 101. This isn't about spilling juice on a carpet and having an uh oh moment it's disrespecting personal belongings and lack of supervision. That is why it is a YDI not a FML. I'm sure the OP's husband will agree.

I agree wholeheartedly, aside from the fact I'd emphasize that both the parents are at fault for this epic fail, and not just the OP. They're supposed to teach those simple things to their children, not only so that the brats don't destroy the house, but also so that they won't endanger themselves. What if they'd drank something poisonous in the garage instead of drawing on the car, huh, OP? All the idiots going "oh, but the poor mommy can't watch her little angels 24/24" would then join a chorus of shock at the parents... So many people can't bother to even try and parent their children properly and then when others mention that, they flip out and start screaming "you don't have children, you don't know!!" even at people who DO have children... we just happen to parent them!!

hair spray, or perfume will take permanent marker right off of anything :) good luck!

Tan their little hides, then reupholster the car with said freshly tanned hides. You might get more because of the nice new leather. (joking for the most part) Or you could shoot down the local parts store and get some seat covers.

Why did you leave your two children 1) unsupervised in the car, and 2) unsupervised with a permanent marker? YDI

No disceplin. Id never dare/want to do some shit like that unless i was an infant and couldnt control my body. but then i wouldnt got he cap of the marker hmm. YDI for being a bad mom.

You should borrow their marker and paint it all maybe the guy won't notice lol
