Today, my wife took herself, the kids, and extended family members I've never even heard of to New York. She paid the 7,000$ bill with my credit card. FML

YDI because you put the dollar sign in the wrong place.

While i find that to be a swift kick in the nuts, have you considered that maybe the "extended family" might be another guy she's seeing? I mean...you've never seen them, nor have you heard of them....i havent read the whole thread of comments, perhaps someone saidthis, or maybe im just odd tot hink that way but that blows dude.

and your not telling us that you are getting either divorced or counseling why. . . ?

love how women think your money is "our" money when you get hitched, ranks up there with when you get married they dont have to have sex anymore. men are good dogs but if you dont pet them once in a while its hard to keep them under the porch!

an extended family member? this reminds me of that movie 'casino' where ginger goes to beverly hills with their daughter and a friend (her lover) and drops over $25,000. i'd ask before you jump to conclusions though, maybe it was a family member that she's reconnecting with

This is probably the stupidest reply in the thread. Without credit cards, the wife could have written a check or taken the money out of the bank. Hell, she could have just taken it from under the OP's pillow while he was sleeping. Credit cards are not the problem, bitchy wives are.

No, credit cards are the problem because a CREDIT card is money you do not have. That's the big difference. The problem here is that the wife spent money the couple didn't have. If they did have that money (DEBIT card, cash), that's no problem (since when you are married you are in the shit together, that's the point of getting married in the first place). Yes it's stupid but it's legal at some point.

Only somebody who doesn't have the self control to properly use a credit card would say something like that. Credit cards are a very useful tool if you pay them off every month. The only time people get into trouble is when they start using them like "free money"

Well at least in France we are not the first known country with loans payment issues ;)

That is why credit cards shoudn't be allowed in the first place.

Sounds like you don't know her very well, man. Relatives you've never heard of? And why is your communication so bad that she wouldn't have even told you she was planning a trip? And btw, you're married: it's her money, too.
