I'm the only person on the second floor. We have HIGHLY explosive chemicals in the labs on the first floor. I'd rather have a broken leg than blow up and die.

Panic much?
You could sue
I'd be able to take you more seriously if you could spell right, dude. Also if you're gonna come off with "at least it wasn't your life"(same ******* thing as i told you so), at least be human and offer some ******* sympathy, man. We're glad OP is still alive, but breaking the bones in your foot is ******* terrible. Geez. On a side note, I hope you have a good recovery OP. I think that you reacted the same way I would. If a smoke alarm goes off, I'm not waiting for the ******* fire to show up. False alarm or not, I'm booking it.
That's actually a fire hazard to have the door jammed like that
Clearly.
I've broken my leg before. I feel your pain, OP. Your going to have to heal for about 6 weeks or more depending on how bad the break is. FYL.
Panic much? Hope you're better soon.
Make them pay your hospital bill
Why jump if you don't see a fire? Try staying calm next time.
So say I'm on the 15th floor of a building, there's a fire on the first floor, I shouldn't make an attempt to exit until I see the fire? Most likely all the exits will be blocked with fire. A fire alarm is to alert people that there's a fire and to get out, before the fire gets to them. In this guys case, he may have only been on the second floor, but by the time he sees the fire, his exits could be blocked.

I think I would have made sure there was clear and present danger before jumping out of a second floor window.
I respect your decision
