Today, the kid next to me asked me, in all seriousness, if gay people have feelings like regular people. I'm gay, and I have to sit next to this barnacle until June. FML

Tell him, "Not only do I have feelings, I have super powers as well!"

That's when you burst into tears and say how insensitive he is thus getting him in trouble the tears don't have to be you really sad just convincing

Okay, I can see how some people can not understand if its a choice or not (I've been told by 2 gay friends that they chose to be gay and others have said it wasn't their choice...) Idc either way I accept them. This guy is just an ignorant ass. Sorry you had to deal with such stupidity, OP.

I'm unsure how old this person is, which would change the nature of my response. If this person is still in their teens/still living at home, they probably have a very "sheltered," prejudiced upbringing that is contributing to their ignorance. Without getting too preachy and weird, you can show them just how ridiculous those beliefs are and help them get a better sense of what people who are different from them are really like. I mean, you don't need to go all Mister Rogers on them, just be, you know, normal and hopefully they'll get the idea.

Being gay must be just a real pain in the ass!

So many people are ignorant because of their surroundings. If he's asking that it's that he was taught like this. Either ignore it and further his ignorance... Or do something about ut

Tell him you think he's cute. That should be fun for him for the remainder of your time together. ;)

as a lesbian, I can't tell you how much people ask me how I have sex or if my life is any different than that of a straight woman. it used to really hurt my feelings, but now I laugh it off. some people were genuinely raised wrong. you're perfectly normal OP, don't worry :)

its really rude for people to ask about your sex life no matter what your orientation is

And in fairness, you life is different that straight people. Gay culture is different from hetero culture. There are things that straight people take for granted that you and other gay have to deal with. Whether it's peoples attitudes or assumptions, etc. There is a difference.

There's a difference between being raised wrong and never having been exposed. You can't go around telling everyone they've been raised wrong just because they don't know how lesbians have sex. That's not a normal thing to talk to children about.

when you reach the age to actually consider these things though you kinda put two and two together. its not that much of a stretch. still it is rude to ask a stranger how they go about sex. either your gay and you will find out first hand or you are straight and you dont really need to know.

98 - i couldn't agree more. but I've encountered it quite a bit. it's extremely rude.

Hey OP, on the bright side you can explain him, he's a kid after all. Don't be disappointed we all have some kind of prejudices.

Should have said you can read minds too...
