Today, the men clearing the walkway outside my dorm room with a snowblower didn't realize that my window was open. I looked over from my computer to see snow shooting in, covering my clock, closet, and radio. Now it's melting. FML

Why the heck was your window open if there was snow on the ground??

If it is cold enough to snow, why is your window open?

What is wrong with some of you people? It isn't the OPs fault that their window was open. There is no law that says that you have to have your window closed in winter. What I think is stupid is that the snowblower guy was blowing snow TOWARDS a building. Who does that? What about when it all starts to melt? Last year there was this huge buildup of snow right by the building so when it all started melting we were a half a centimeter away from flooding. Snow should be piled at the peripherals of the property.

#16...Who would leave their window open during winter with snow about while not being in the room? That's incredibly stupid... as is not shutting your window when you hear the snowblower coming. Also, they "looked over from [their] computer to see snow shooting in." Learn to read, then post.

DUDE I always have snow and its always in the teens but my window is almost always open because the dorms are so damn hot

If you were on campus, my advice to you is to complain to anybody who will listen (and even those who won't) if anything of yours is ruined. Make the school pay for it. Talk to the school paper and see if they'll print something. Go to the Dean. In their carelessness, a school employee may have damaged your belongings. You're entitled to compensation for that. If the school isn't willing to play ball, threaten a lawsuit.

why was your window open? why do you not have a screen on your window? why did you not close said window when you heard the snowblower going? they are not quiet devices, I am told.

So it's his fault you had your window open?

#17, #19, RTFP Snow did not get on the computer, she looked over from her computer. And with that, at least your computer wasn't affected. So you've got a broken clock and radio, maybe. And some wet clothing. Whop-de-doo. I know someone who had their entire house robbed while they were on vacation, and he's not here complaining. Get over it.

She probably had her window open because dorms are disgustingly hot when the heat gets turned on for the winter. I agree that you should complain about this, because he shouldn't have been snowblowing in the direction of the building.

LOL i like how it's in present tense

Fail. No one keeps their window open when it's cold and snowy out. I call BS on this FML.
