Hows that FML, thats so sweet!
How considerate of her
Coming from someone who also finds large gatherings uncomfortable I completely understand not knowing how to get involved in conversations or not interacting with people who don't approach you first. However, most social situations require you to take some initiative so although initially awkward, maybe jump in a conversation or two next time. You never know, maybe you'll enter a really great group of people and won't be alone again :)
Awwwww! How sweet of her!!! :)
For social situations I normally repeat the last word/phrase the person speaking to me has said, and they just keep talking :) E.g. Person: Yesterday I went shopping. Me: Shopping? Person: Yeah, I bought a new dress. Me: New dress huh? Person: Yeah I wanted some me time, it's great. it is pink with frilly edges. Me: Frilly edges? Person: Unusual I know but it worked. Goes well with my new shoes. Me; New shoes? etc.
JAINYUSS!
Etc.?
#45 Just keep using the technique. Within reason :) Ah, I see what you did there!
That kid is cute. But you life really sucks. Go out more and try to make some new friends
I often find myself hanging with the children at social gatherings. They're easier to approach and so much fun, on top of being super cute. And then I often become friends with the parents because they think I'm awesome for spending time with their kids and giving them a break.^^
This is one of the saddest things I've ever read
That was sweet of her to do. But if your not going to socialize then what's the point of going to the party?
Ok this sucks, but that little kid is so friggin cute!

That really sucks op, but I bet your coworker will really appreciate how much her daughter liked you!
At least you had such an adorable little girl to try cheer you up! Always look for the silver linings OP!
