Today, two days after sending her flowers for Valentine's Day, my dream girl asked me on a date. She didn't show up. Her boyfriend did though. FML

Well then, that's quite a plot twist

Didnt you already know she was dating someone?

Are all you people confused? Don't you realize the boyfriend intercepted the flowers and texted back to make the date? I know because I'm the boyfriend and this creep has been bothering my girl for a year now. Having been told countless times by her to leave her alone I decided a little "guy talk" was needed. We "bonded" well during the exchange.

She was being a bitch. She didn't have to do that if she didn't want to go out with you. Whether you knew or not, what she did was very rude and mean.

I agree with #89. All hearts are open graves. If you're dreaming, you're asleep, time to wake up. From what is suggested in the username, Op faced the black and blue nature of reality.

OP here, had to make an account with a different username but here's the whole story. I was unaware of her having a boyfriend and as they had only gotten back together a few days before.(they dated once before, split up and got back together.) she apologized afterwards via text and I cut contact.

It would seem to me that op didn't know about the bf and that is where the confused part of the user name comes from.

While I agree that no one is perfect and dream girls and guys most likely don't exist, the comment "anyone with hope in their heart deserves a punch to the face" sounds a bit jaded man.

This sounds somewhat odd. Sending flowers to someone can be a big risk and if they don't know you well it can be uncomfortable. Terms like dream girl make this weirder, it seems odd to send flowers to someone you don't know too well and whether or not what she asked him too was actually a date. Not uncommon especially on FML for someone to be for someone to be confused if one assumed it was a date and the other didn't.

If your idea of your "dream girl" is someone you don't know well enough to know she's taken you're a creep and/or shallow so YDI and if you did know she was taken then YDI.

Judging by your username you guys got in a fight. People are ridiculous, she could've said she had a boyfriend. It was just totally innocent sending flowers. What I hate is that she accepted them and said yes to the date, before that happened she could have told you that she's seeing someone. That was an utter bitch move on her part. Accepting the flowers, accepting the date, sending her boyfriend. Girls like her will end up single and miserable. Dude, I know you'll find a WONDERFUL woman of your dreams.
