#136, you may be a good person but that doesn't mean you "deserve" a Porsche. You can get one, but you should be grateful for it. Straight A's at 15 is good, but pretty easy to do. I was valedictorian of my high school and never got less than an A once so don't try to say that you "deserve" a Porsche for that just because you happened to be born into a rich family and I was born in a middle class one (my parents are/were both teachers, do you think they could afford Porsches even for themselves, much less their children?) Be grateful that your family is still in such good condition in this economy to buy you a Porsche! No matter how good a person you are, you aren't getting a Porsche because of any of that. You're getting a Porsche because you happened to be born into a family rich enough to give you one. It's pure luck. You could have been born a poor orphan, or in a family of more typical means, and if you were, it wouldn't matter how a good a person you were, you wouldn't be getting a Porsche for your 16th birthday. But you weren't, and you are, so that's fine, but don't act like it's something you're entitled to. Be grateful to your parents and don't take it for granted. You didn't post an FML or anything so hopefully that means you realize how lucky you are. I'm not getting a Porsche and I'm lucky just to have a working car and enough money to not have to worry about where my rent and my next meal is coming from.
#136: The perfect example of a spoiled brat (I'm so smart, pretty, etc. I deserve this, that, etc., it's all about me). At least you do well in school, though. The only thing worse than a spoiled kid is a STUPID spoiled kid. Then again, straight A's in middle/high school is a joke. If you pull that off in a reputable college, then maybe you deserve more than a gold star on your paper (still not a Porsche, though). All I can say is, get a good education and live off your own efforts, not by leeching your parents' money. It's much more rewarding. By the way, Land Rovers blow. They're terribly unreliable, which may sound unimportant to someone with a lot of money like you, but it's not just replacing it if it breaks - it's being stuck when it breaks. Also, they're fugly. Stick with the Porsche. OP: I don't get how this is FYL unless your dad just gave you the wrecked car without repairing it, that would be a pretty bad move, since it is his fault. Yeah it's more than you should really expect, getting a car for nothing, but it's still lame to wreck it and not repair it. If he did repair it, then this is totally FHL.
shut up and be happy you got a running car. You didn't even have to drop a dime into it. as far as the dent...who cares. Adds character. Makes for a good laugh you tell the story. "My dad ran into a street lamp." Even better if you tell it drunk.
Thank you, #139. Stop bitching at the troll. Even if, for the sake of arguments sake, she isn't a troll, she isn't going to change. Leave her be. OP: I agree with anyone on the site that's made the comment: your dad's welfare > your new car.
You got a car for your 16th birthday?? Yeah, your life must REALLY be ******!
lol #151. I'm 18 and I'm maybe getting a car after I start my freshmen year in college. preppyrichgirlxox, not all of us are rich as you are so please keep ur spoiled comments to yourself. We don't need to advertise living hedonistic and materialistic lifestyles. It just makes one look superficial and shallow, as you have successfully demonstrated.
peoples parents actually buy them cars for their 16th birthday? I WISH! i bought my own car when i was 16

not really a fml you have parents who would buy you a car for your birthday and i really doubt they wouldn't spend the money to fix it up for you
What your dad probably should have done was just park it in the garage or driveway, rather than drive it into a street lamp. Now it's all banged up...
