Today, we had guests coming over. My dad wanted me to make some bacon, but I refused because I'm a vegetarian, and don't like to touch meat. His response? 'Good joke honey, now make the bacon.' FML

or maybe the,"good joke honey" was sarcasm for,"I know you've given a million handjobs, just touch it" think about it!!

or your dad knows you are a vegetarian but assumed that you could still at least touch meat. refusing to touch it seems extreme.

my hair is naturally dirty blonde. I dyed my hair a dark burgandy purple color and it took my dad a month to notice. my point? dads are extremely unobservant

It's because your daddy doesn't care about you.

haha na I just know fathers notice nothing. I'm used to it

My dad notices everything. Its not all dads, its just the ones that have the mom to notice everything for them.

No, I'm pretty sure it's just the dads that don't give 2 cents.

Don't generalize. There's lots of dads who notice/care, even those with wives who might also do the same.

Not really. For me, I try to avoid going near meat because the smell makes me queasy. I personally don't like touching meat, but I'll still do so for my boyfriend if he's been working long hours.

For me it's like touching the flesh of a human that had been butchered and cooked, because humans are animals too. I'm guessing OP has her own reasons and you should respect that. Maybe to her people drooling over bacon seems extreme.

read ur bible were allowed to eat meat.. noob sauce. I wanna go eat a huge hamburger in front of u

Why would anyone read a bunch of fairy tales to determine if one is allowed to eat meat?

I should like to quote 51 if I was a member of something I could quote on ^^ :|

The bible may not be an appropriate source of evidence here, but it isn't ALL fairytales and parables. There's a lot in there that's historically accurate. But if you doubt its authenticity, that doesn't help either.

Actually, in your little bible it purposely states that eating pork is very unclean and should not be eaten whatsoever or often. It also says that consuming a lot of animals is not good for you and will make a person slowly sick. I'm sorry, but where did all of those little scriptures rules go? I heard a Christian once say: "You can't pick and choose what you want to believe in the Bible." I guess that's also an all or none rule huh?

I'm Christian but I think just because the Bible says we can eat meat that does not mean we have to.

EvilDave 13

YDI for thinking that because you don't eat meat your family should never expect you to cook or touch meat.

her family can cook and touch their own food

Agreed, but it wasn't exclusively for the family. Guests were coming and Dad expected OP to be a little hospitable. I might not agree with divorce, but I'm not going to refuse to help out a friend if she's getting one and needs help.

wtf is wrong with everyone commenting on here about hand jobs seriously let's all be REALLY immature when the person is talking about touching BACON, ur all dumb asses!

dads (and most men, really) are just naturally unobservant when it comes to things like that. my dad cooked for me for 20 years until i moved out and never did remember anything i didn't like.

EvilDave 13

I am guessing you are either a lesbian or will never have a decent relationship with a man because you have such a low opinion of men in general.

Pretty sure he was refering to 55, who can go eat shit and die.

all the ppl saying "omfg ydi for bein veggie goddamn hippie blah blah" stfu. it's her choice. what If u choked on a steak and I said ydi for eatig meat. that'd b wrong but the former isn't? geez what's wrong wit u

I don't know about everyone else but I'm not bashin veggies in general but the ones who are like, "we didn't do anything? y do u have to be mean" and then someone else comes on and is like. "I can't believe people eat meat! murderers! let's protest against this so we can save one more animal!" blah. blah.

get over it... animals eat animals, and humans fall in that deffinition

no they don't? u can't digest plants dumbass. get ur facts straight.

pingpongpickle 8

if they don't eat us, we shouldn't eat them. and btw being an herbivore or carnivore isn't about your bone structure, it's about whether you can get energy and nutrients from meat/plants and we can get it from both so we are both :)

You've never heard of an animal eating a human?

The_good_times 0

If humans didn't eat meat we'd still live in caves and eat strawberries. Meat has helped the human race is developing a bigger brain, so stfu. How can any ignorant vegetarian honestly say that "we're not meant to eat meat", of course we are, it's so blatantly obvious I just they're retarded for not seeing it, humans started eating meat hundreads of thousands of years ago, today, the majority still eat meat and you don't see everyone dying one by one. It's true that if consumed in excess it can cause you to get fat and all sorts of problems, but pretty much anything in excess is bad for you.

pingpongpickle 8

#113 -yes i have but those animals are like lions , etc. humans only eat little chickens and farm animals, have you ever heard of them eating humans?

If we didn't eat meat, we wouldn't have discovered what a great weapon the Mastodon femur makes, and then we would not have had our first real combat, so there! (assuming spears were only for hunting until then)

157: So by that logic, you're totally OK with big game hunting, right?

91, we can digest most plants. Cellulose in plants is indegestible, which is why celery provides no calories, however most plants contain less cellulose and can be digested.

RedPillSucks 31

@157 Those are all herbivores. By that argument, all the meat eaters should eat all the vegetarians. *soylent green is people!*

soylent cola is ok, but it varies from person to person. yes I did steal that from futurama.

Meat brought man out of caves? You can't be that dumb can you? Evolution of our bodies and brains brought us out of caves. That didn't start because we began to slaughter animals. In fact, very rarely did prehistoric humans get the chance to eat meat. And also just to be a matter of fact, we ARE designed for herbivorous consumption. Everything from our teeth to our digestive tract shows so.
