Today, when I was unpacking all of my stuff, my parents declared that they are going to live in Australia, and have found me a 'friend'. I am a 14 year old girl at boarding school, and my friend is my new foster mum. FML

This is awful. I hope you find some other adults that you can be close to and take an interest in you. Please remember that this about them and not you; it's their selfishness and neglect, not because you are not a worthwhile person. I am so sorry to hear this.

well, once they settle there, send them a big box of cookies, make them yourself, add whatever you wish to add.

Woah, if this is true I'm so sorry. How could a parent do that to their child? And at 14? You're starting your GCSE's around then too, think of the impact this would have on her education. Disgraceful parenting!!

This is an appalling story - you may be able to take comfort from the fact that you are almost certainly better off without such selfish people in your life, but their are potential remedies should you wish. You can go to your local Citizen's Advice Bureau regarding your legal position, I'm almost certain that their actions are illegal - the unethical and immoral nature of their actions is obvious. After that go to the 'Social' offices - I'm sure they will be very interested in your plight. If this fails - or maybe just for the hell of it - write a letter to, or telephone, your preferred tabloid newspaper; this is just the sort of thing they love to get their teeth into, there is every chance that you may become a 'cause celebre'. Good Luck.

you'll probably like the new mom better assuming she doesn't go to Australia without you and leave you alone

If you go to boarding school, why can't that arrangement stay the same and you visit your parents in Australia on holiday? Your parents' organisational skills suck :-

you are probably better off without them. they sound like bona fide a-holes. I go to a boarding school myself. at least now you probably have more freedom

errrrm, they can't just give you up like that
