Today, when I was unpacking all of my stuff, my parents declared that they are going to live in Australia, and have found me a 'friend'. I am a 14 year old girl at boarding school, and my friend is my new foster mum. FML

This is awful. I hope you find some other adults that you can be close to and take an interest in you. Please remember that this about them and not you; it's their selfishness and neglect, not because you are not a worthwhile person. I am so sorry to hear this.

do orphanages still exist? I feel so sorry for you but trust me after a week at boarding school it'll be you home, that's how it was for me because my parents were ***** as well! :P

Ah, that's truly unfortunate. When I hear "Foster Parent", I think of a child being handed to the government or a charity for adoptive care. I did not realize the boarding school could be considered a legal guardian. How very sad.

"Be glad they atleast took care of you until you were 14 " You say that as if she asked to be born in the first place. I'm pretty sure when someone has a child, its their responsibility. Have to say this is pretty awful. Sorry that your parents are doing this, OP.

My mom life was like that too in a way, she was living with her grandparents for 12 years thinking they we're he really mom and dad, when her grandma die, her 'aunt' came and told her that she's her really mom. So yeah. But I'm sorry though. FYL. ):

I'm sorry to hear that, what horrible, worthless parents. People like them are the reason I'm a Social Work major, I wish you the best and hope they either realize what selfish assholes they are or your foster mom will be your best friend.
