If your therapist can't be honest with you then no one can.
At least they told you which is more than most people would do.. Take it for what it is and brush your teeth. Mouth wash and floss would be good too. Use them daily once when you wake up, once after lunch and once before bed.
I'm sorry she was so rude about it :( If you're dealing with a lot of stuff in your life right now, even something like getting out of bed in the morning or brushing your teeth can be incredibly hard. However, taking care of yourself is now probably more important than ever. "Self-care" is a healthy mixture of two things: - doing things you enjoy doing (taking a break from stuff, reading a good book/watch a good movie/videogames) - keeping yourself and your environments clean and healthy Don't let it keep you down. FYL OP and get better soon! <3
Someone lost a customer.
I think some Tic Tacs would've been more covert.
I used to work with a guy who had the worst breath of any person I have ever met. He also had horrible gingivitis, sometimes his gum-line would look black it was so bad. You literally had to stand 5 feet away from him and not breath on the really bad days. Consider yourself lucky that someone was nice enough to let you know.
free toothpaste!!
most therapist also have bad breath from talking all day

At least she gave you good advice you could use.
If she's going to assume that you don't brush your teeth; then go out of her way to get you some toothpaste, she could have at least bought a toothbrush to hand you along with it. She half-assed her bitch move. Just saying.
