Today, while at the beach, my son needed to pee. I told him to pee in the ocean. He took off his pants and peed from the beach to the water. FML

Not always the case, sometimes bright and smart people come from idiots or vise versa. Idiots can come from bright people too. It's unfortunate but it does happen and it also depends on the genes that are passed down.

My sibling would do that with her son. She only stopped when he peed into a pool in front of dozens of people. YDI.

This sounds like a younger child. If it is, you need to ******* relax. People know that children do things like that ALL the time, you shouldn't be embarrassed just because they're still learning how to behave acceptably.
