Today, while driving home, I swerved to avoid turning a duck and her babies into roadkill. Another car was coming around a sharp bend at the time and swerved to avoid hitting me. In the end, we both ran our cars off the road, and he took out several ducks in the process. FML

It may sound irrational but you are actually spose to just hit the ducks and not swerve so you don't end up hurting someone else. Your efforts were valiant though.

If its possible to break to slow down without causing an accident...do so...however, swerving to not hit the ducks puts you and other drivers at risk. You didn't want to run over the ducks and ducklings...but hitting another car (possibly with a child inside)...is MUCH MUCH worse

Why didn't you just kill the ducks? would have made it easy for yourself

under the law your suppose to kill those ducks and not swerve around them

Good on you for at least trying! hope you are ok

YDI for swerving instead of stopping.

There's a girl in Québec up on manslaughter charges for stopping to help turtles cross a freeway, and a man and his daughter slammed into the back of them and were killed because of this. Stopping is not the answer either.

You deserve it because you created a traffic hazard. You slow down, not swerve. If something prevents you from slowing down and there's nothing keeping you from swerving, then you swerve. Otherwise, you have to try and slow down as best you can and risk hitting the ducks. Avoiding harming yourself and other people is priority number one.

You can't be serious. Haven't you heard of the young woman in Montréal who says her intention was to save a family of ducks? Google it..! YDI.

OMG this is hilarious.. It shouldn't be but I laughed so hard at this fml
