Today, while I was at work, my husband threw out 50 out of my 70 T-shirts, all of my tank tops, and all but one of my sweaters. I'm not getting them back because they're burning in a bonfire in the backyard. FML

OP, Clearly there is more to the story than this. Please let us in on it.

While he is enjoying that "bonfire" I would enjoy his credit card and replace your belongings.

What's his side of the story? You seem to want to hide that. Maybe they're shirts that your ex-boyfriend bought for you or something. Tell us.

Guess it’s time to throw out the husband.

Yeah he shouldn't have done that but why the **** DID you have 70 shirts?

I suggest bringing this behavior up to the judge during the impending divorce proceedings.

Do you honestly need THAT many clothes? Hell, I have 7 t-shirts, one for each day IF I don't wear one 2 days in a row.... I'm surprised he didn't do the same with your shoes (which I'm assuming you're hoarding as well)

There's definitely more to this story. I'm guessing that either there was no space for all those clothes or that a lot of them were in a rather sorry state but OP refused to throw them out. Burning the clothes is such an extreme reaction that it does seem like the husband wanted to make sure they wouldn't find their way back into the house (again). Or maybe OP's husband is a dick.

maybe he got tired of having no closet space that had clothes that were probably never worn.

ok but SEVENTY T-SHIRTS?? Maybe he snapped. Who owns 70 of any clothing item, apart from collectors? How do you store them all? I don't think I have a grand total of 70 clothing items. I couldn't stick sharing living space with someone who has 70 tshirts.
