Time to get a new job... Or tell him its his fault they walked out...
It is illegal in most places to charge employees for a dine-and-dash...
there's only one first time cause its the first?!
In Illinois, it is illegal for an employer to force you to repay any cash shortages without your written consent given freely at that time. You're not going to get anywhere by filing a lawsuit, but you can file a complaint with the Dept of Labor. The employer cannot turn around and fire you for filing the complaint as that would be considered a retaliatory action and is grounds for legal action.
Gee, I wonder why they walked out? Hmmm, maybe it was the crappy service?

Sounds like a good time to quit.
Yeah... that's called being a selfish, inconsiderate, ignorant bitch. I would let that fly under my nose. I'd ******* hunt you down.
