Today, while putting on makeup, I got a face full of bloody scratches instead of an even skin tone. Turns out my makeup sponge was full of bits of glass. My little brother forgot to tell me he shattered a mirror beside my makeup box. FML

I would recommend seeing a doctor if you haven't already. In case you have tiny shards in your cheeks now.

I marked the option that this was totally her fault because if you need to use a make sponge to apply makeup you are prolly cakeing that shit on way too much which is maybe why you didnt notice all the glass eviscerating your face.

Umm... when you use liquid foundation, it's quite common to use a sponge. It doesn't mean she's 'cakeing' it on. I use a sponge and I only ever use a small amount of foundation. It's very unsanitary to use your fingers and brushes leave streaks when using liquid. Also to whoever said that sponges are very thin, not always. You can get thin, thick, squares, circles, wedges etc.

Actually mate! the correct way of putting an even THIN coating of foundation on is with a sponge, using brushes and your fingers puts to much on to thickly or with streaks. either way thats not cool.

you should NEVER use a sponge to put on foundation. you're not using the brush correctly if you're having streaks. youtube how to do it right if you don't have enough ****** to figure it out on your own.

Uhh who told you that? My Sister in law is a professional make-up artist and she told me that I should use sponges for liquid and brushes for powder and pressed powder foundation.

There's more than 1 way to apply foundation. Makeup brushes aren't only for powder products. There are plenty that are designed to apply liquids and creams. It's not wrong to use a sponge or a brush; both work. It's all about personal preference.

glass is one of the most painless ways to injure yourself, especially if the shards are tiny, you seriously won't feel it at all until you se the blood. I would get some mederma, glass scars in a very unique fashion.

A big, giant HA! at #22. You must be an avid fan (read: immature) to have that autofill on ya.

So you didn't notice the OMG BURNING PAIN after the first swab? You waited to see what was up until your entire face was covered with scratches?

Kara, to say that if you take good care of your skin you shouldn't have to wear makeup is bullshit. I have light acne and I do take care of my skin very well thank you. Sometimes acne or other facial imperfections are genetic. To blame a woman for wearing makeup because she doesn't take care of herself is stupid. I don't want to hear people with flawless skin talk about people who have acne or other reasons for wearing makeup. You know nothing. And that wasn't even the issue in the OP.

Also sometimes you get pimples due to hormones. No one can control that, no matter how well they take care of their skin. And I hardly ever wear make-up, but every once in a while it's nice to put some on for a change, just to glam it up a bit. I don't see any harm in that at all. And just because you, Kara, have never been criticized for not wearing make-up, does NOT mean that it isn't shoved down girls throats. Kudos to you for having the self confidence to not wear make-up every day. But don't judge girls that do wear it on a daily basis.

I agree, I have never worn make up because I have nice skin, and I just wash it with basic hand soap. But both my mother(55y/o) and my sister both have cystic acne and wear makeup every day. They wash their faces every day, as well as using prescription medications and their acne never goes away. So saying that if people just take care of their skin that they won't need to wear makeup is completely ignorant.

This coming from a guy, I know what I'm talking about. If it's applied well, and even though it might not look completely realistic, it may still look much better than no make up. Sorry, but the reason no guy has asked you out yet isn't due to them after all, huh?

If you've got good skin, by all means, show it off. I dont wear much make up. I wear a little eyeliner and shadow on occasion, but daily I don't wear any. The only time I've ever worn any sort of foundation was when I had an allergic reaction to something and got a weird rash on my chin, that I didn't feel like showing off. So yeah, if you've got nice skin, don't bother with it. There's not point, but what about my little sister's friend who has a giant red birthmark covering a quarter of her face. Are you going to criticize her for wearing makeup? Since she was a little kids she's been made fun of for it. Now she wears make up on it. She's gotten quite good at it, and you can't even tell she's wearing it, if you didn't know that the left side of her face is normally a bright red. Just because you look good without make up, does not mean everyone does, or that everyone feels comfortable with their skin.

Not all people have good skin. DUH. My cousin has a port wine birthmark that covers most of her upper lip. I have scars from a bad case of the chicken pox, as well as a scar leading from my left temple diagonal to the end of my right eyebrow, that I got when I had my face split open when I was hit by a car as a child. We both are VERY good at applying natural-looking amounts of foundation to hide our imperfections. My eyelashes and eyebrows are also a very pale blonde-brown, so I wear mascara and pencil in my brows on a daily basis. If I didn't, I'd look like I had no hair at all. And I don't like looking as if I have facial alopecia, thanks. Taking good care of your skin does not mean you will have good skin either. Some people simply produce more oil and are more susceptible to acne and large pores. It doesn't matter what facial wash they use or how good they are about skin care, they just have bad skin. And besides that, sometimes it's jut plain fun to wear makeup, especially on special occasions like a fancy date, a formal party like a wedding, or just to spice up a regular outfit. Caking on makeup so you look whorish is one thing. Using makeup appropriately to enhance your features or hide imperfections is something completely different. You are an EXTREMELY ignorant person, Kara. I suggest you hush up now.

holy shit. toilet seat? thats a bit much dont you think? its not like he did it on purpose. unless he did. but even then, hes her little brother, he stands when he pisses. and chances are, shell use the toilet before he every has to poo. imagine if she forgot.
