I love my mom and always have. I admit I feared her wrath growing up, but that fear never stopped me loving her, but it did stop me doing many things that may have potentially hurt myself or others. I will spank my kids, but only hard enough to send a message. When my mom hit me it never hurt (it was on the butt) but I used to cry and lie on my bed with the guilt that I had disappointed her so much that she had to hit me.
