Today, while working at a client's house, I noticed that their sliding calendar was several months off. I fixed it. Later the daughter saw and started crying. Apparently the date was the last one her mother had set it to before she died. FML

This is why you don't touch people's things when you're working at their house. Def YDI!

YDI, although it was a good gesture, you shouldn't mess with stuff at other people's houses especially if it's a client's.

Don't mess with other people's belongings!!! Didn't your mother teach you any manners????

It's the fact that it was "several months" off that should have tipped you off. If someone lets something like that go for a long time, there is bound to be a reason. "Oh, I noticed your calendar was off. Would you like my help fixing it? No? It's intentional? Wow, good thing I checked." How hard is that? Sorry OP but YDI for not checking, despite your good intentions.

Why would you even touch things in other people's house without asking first

Hope they fired your stupid meddlesome ass!

I'm not trying to be mean, but that's why I leave things the way they are

This is why you should do only what you're told to. Should've at least asked them. :(

I can't believe people are arguing over this. It's not your house, don't touch their stuff. Period.

You dont even know the daughters age! How can anyone say that she needs to move on when you know NOTHING bout the mother/daughter?! No one has any right to tell anyone what the proper amount of time to grieve is!

Don't touch people's shit, you idiot. Especially sine they're your current employer.
