Today, while working at a client's house, I noticed that their sliding calendar was several months off. I fixed it. Later the daughter saw and started crying. Apparently the date was the last one her mother had set it to before she died. FML

This is why you don't touch people's things when you're working at their house. Def YDI!

YDI, although it was a good gesture, you shouldn't mess with stuff at other people's houses especially if it's a client's.

YDI for sure. I know how I felt when someone messed with the things my dad left around when he died.

I cant even believe all the negative comments on here.. Op changed the calender. Its done and the kid was upset cause it reminded her of her mom. Kid wasnt gonna keep the calender for life.

YDI. you had no place fixing it for them.

your parents should of taught you at a young age that you don't touch stuff that isn't yours. this is extremely rude.

This is why I don't let people into my room. You can never predict or control what somebody else is going to do. Unavoidable though if OP is a cleaner hired to clean the place after the mother has died, since OP didn't state what kind of work he/she was doing for the client.

Your not supposed to touch people's things in the first place like it's not yours so why do you need to touch it
