I guess our OCD ways get the better of us sometimes.
Sameee. I would've fixed it too..
But then it wouldn't have been the date that her mom set it to... it'd be the date that OP set it back to because he/she couldn't mind his/her own business and leave things in someone else's home well enough alone.
YDI. I have OCD. If you changed the calendar in my house whether it was wrong or not I'd flip.
seeing it meant so much to her I'm sure she remembered the date
sorry mate but YD. you don't touch things in peoples houses. I would've gone absolutely ballistic!
but if it only happened a few months ago, then she has every right to still keep and certainly be upset. you said yours was out there in 2010. that's 3 yrs ago! this poor woman has only had a few months this of grieving. everyone grieves in their own way and I think it's not right that he touched her stuff!!
you didn't know op
I'm neutral on this one, because I can understand both sides. Yes, they shouldn't be messing with other people's stuff (even if it was odd that it was several months off). But, I could understand them thinking that maybe they just forgot to change it, etc.
If the OP was that concerned, they should have asked about it instead of touching it without notifying the client.
if it was a day off maybe I'd change it but if its very off I'd assume they know that and leave it as is and ask later that way if they didn't know they do now

This is why you don't touch people's things when you're working at their house. Def YDI!
YDI, although it was a good gesture, you shouldn't mess with stuff at other people's houses especially if it's a client's.
