Use it wisely

By armywife980 - This FML is from back in 2011 but it's good stuff

Today, after teaching my 4 year-old son about the concept of "Stranger Danger," we had gone to a park full of people. When I walked up to him to tell him we had to leave, he ran, screaming, "Stranger! Don't touch me!" FML

Watch the movie they have out. It will teach him the difference between a stranger and a "don't know"

It's called Strangleland with Dee Snider yes it's about computers and chatrooms but hey it'll teach him either way!!! That movie scared the **** OUTTA ME when it came out I was only 7 and didn't use computers till I was 11 lol

There's an updated version called "Stranger Danger- The safe side. " The guy on Americas Most Wanted created it. I made a mistake on my original comment, it teaches kids the difference between a "don't know" a "kinda know" and a "safety person" great movie. Scares the shit out of me but my kids love it.

Ugh. People are still doing this stranger danger crap? I thought it was conclusively proven years ago that it does more harm than good. When approached by strangers with genuine concern for the child in an emergency they start acting crazy (as hilariously happened in your case even though you weren't a stranger) Teach your child to identify potentially harmful individuals from within a group of people instead and instead.

Is this the correct method either, though? It sounds like this is just stereotyping or profiling, when there's really no uniform "bad guy" ... it could look like anyone.

the stranger danger is simply wrong because most attacks or abductions happen from people you know because that person has to know your schedule your lifestyle and often with children they have to get the child to trust them. you're more likely to be harmed by a neighbor, relative, or teacher then an actual stranger.

Your child is 90% more at risk being hurt by someone known to the family than a stranger. FHL
