Don't stress, I also think he meant it as they look so similar they could be twins. There was a girl who looked just like me in the same are where I grew up and people would often tell me they saw me somewhere I wasn't. Now I live with my partner in another country and I could have sworn I saw his father the other day. It happens.

I don't know, people don't usually say things like, "Hey I saw someone who resembled your father kissing someone who wasn't your mother!" I think he meant 'actual twin' and just wanted to be tactful about telling you. OP, just say something to your dad like, "Hey, my boss saw you in the supermarket today!" and watch his reaction.

I hate to say it, but this one sounds fake. I mean, who would assume that someone had a twin? That's a pretty big assumption to make. This is fake, or the boss is incredibly thick.

It sounds to me like the boss was joking around.. i.e. twin being someone who closely resembles your father.. not looks EXACTLY like him. Maybe? Don't jump to rash conclusions.

or maybe your boss didn't know how to tell you so he played dumb and said it was his twin.
