Today, my family took me to a wig store saying I wouldn't feel so insecure about being bald because of my chemo treatments. When I told them I accepted myself and didn't want a wig, they came out and told me THEY couldn't accept it. My own family is embarrassed of me over something I can't control. FML

If I perchance got alopecia and decided to shave my head as a solution but ended up looking like I'd just come from an Aryan Nations rally is there anyone here who'd be surprised, much less sympathetic if I got fired? Didn't think so. Stop making excuses op and start looking after your appearance.

Hell, my girlfriend has just come through chemotherapy, and she likes her wig so much better than her old hair, she's thinking about shaving her head even after her own hair grows back. If it's a big issue for you OP, there are always options. Oh, but I agree - your boss is a dick.
