First of all, I'll bet you anything that everyone on here flipping out about the $50 are guys. Secondly, I sure as heck hope you complained and demanded a refund.
Don't leave until you're totally happy with your cut... $50 is a lot for a trim... more reasonable for a full cut, possibly even colour such as hilights... but a trim...
A $50 haircut in the Seattle area is pretty standard. You can pay upwards of $150 at certain salons, and it doesn't matter if it's "just a trim." You're still getting the shampoo, scalp massage, cut and blowout, regardless of how much hair you have taken off. If it looked like crap, you should have said something so the stylist could fix it. YDI for not saying anything.
$50 is not that much for a cut. Additionally, OP is in Canada so that's really like $30-$40 USD depending on the current trade value. And whoever said $50 was on par for a cut AND highlights either doesn't get highlights, lives in fantasy land, or goes to Fantastic Sam's or some other cheap place. OP... if you don't like it, you should have gone back and had a different stylist fix it, and then started searching for a new place to get your hair cut!
Sorry, but you are very, very far away from the actual exchange rate. 50 canadian dollars are worth roughly 50 United-States dollars. So that $50 overpriced bad haircut in Canada happening in the past three years would be still be about $45-$50 USD. Rough average for... Now : $50 haircut 2009 : $42.90 haircut 2008 : $46.70 haircut 2007 : $46.25 haircut
