Today, I was forced to attend a fire safety class, as required by my job. Last year, I completed the fire academy as a volunteer fireman. The class was not only insulting, but wrong in many ways. I got kicked out for pointing them out. I now have to take it again, or be fired. FML

Those are things that should be pointed out. if the class is miseducating people then you need to report that to someone.

as a retained firefighter for two years I've been to a few of this 'fire safety' talks which are 99 times out of 100 absolute bollocks. they might as well just tell you to jump out the nearest window and pray god gives you wings or at the very least a crash mat!

Chances are, if a fire breaks out, people will just panic and run out the nearest exit. Not many people pay attention to fire safety talks. They're usually required by law and take liability from the company. Just be glad, OP, that you know the proper steps to take.

i think you should shut up and not complain during the class. if i bitched at work everytime i thought we had to go over something stupid i would get fired too. shut up and take their money. Also im sure the teacher and everyone else didnt want to hear you drone on and on with your know it all attitude .im gonna go get a job with a builder and then im gonna tell him how he should build the house because i spent a year building sheds and read a book about it

So you'd rather her take the shitty class and not be informed about how to put out a fire? What if this girl was someone who was just learning to be a fire fighter? All the power to her if she wants to complain about the misinformed meeting, BUT she did do it in the wrong manner.
