Today, my surgeon was giving me the lowdown of what was going to happen on the operating table. I was anxious enough without him saying stuff like "cut you open", "quite a bit of blood" and "it's all quite risky." That's all I remember before fainting. My wife won't stop mocking me for it. FML

It's a serious thing no matter what. No one should mock or joke about some one having anesthesia or surgery . You wait until they are sedated to mock them and joke around .

She wouldn't be making fun of you if she was the one having surgery.

I hope the procedure was successful and you didn't have any troubles with the anesthesia. Hospitals freak me out and when I had surgery nearly two years ago I was basically in the same place you were. I passed out when they were taking blood as part of the pre-surgical procedure.

I fainted in the hospital hallway just from looking at stitches! Your not alone!

I feel bad for you, it's mean that you're being mocked. The surgeon also didn't help by increasing your nerves. But I can't relate at all. I've had at least 5 major surgeries and I've never been nervous for any of them.

Wow you must be so proud.. He isn't a wimp btw because it's pretty common..

Pre-surgery can always be nerve-racking. I hope everything goes well and you're feeling better soon OP!
