Cursed cursive

Today, I was called by my son's school. They said he'd been forging my signature and comments in his reading book. He didn't forge them. I don't know what's worse: my handwriting looking like a 6 year-old's, or being too cowardly to admit it. He has a week of lunch detention, but I still have my dignity. FML

You let your kid get a week's worth of detention because you won't admit it was you? Some parent you are. Your kid's gonna be pissed at you, and you deserve all of it.

Trust me when I say: you do NOT still have your dignity. You may have successfully hidden that fact from the school, but anyone who lets any kid, but especially their own kid, take that kind blame ... to protect their own shallow self-image, has NO dignity. You are the LOWEST of the low.

I can't believe you would give your son an unfair punishment so you could have your dignity!!!! shame on you for being so selfish!!!!!!!!!! that is just aweful. your poor son. you won't have your dignity when your son gets older and remembers what you did and tells everyone he meets what you did to him. then u will suffer even more than if you had just been honest in the first place

How does this fit on FML? Everyone clicked on YDI but how does that make sense. The parent deserves it to keep their dignity? Or they deserve it for having child like handwriting? Either way this does not fit.

You would rather have your child spend detention over telling the truth about your awful handwriting... You are scum, you don't have any dignity.

**** YOU FRENCHIE!!! Your a horrid parent!

I can't believe you'd do that especially to a 6 year old... honestly, my parents have lied way less and the relationship's still been completely eroded. I feel no parental bonds. Good luck with repairing your relationship with your son WHEN it erodes (and it WILL, give it 5, 10, even 25 years.. this is something you would NEVER forget - oh and by the way a week's lunch detention SUCKS at 6). You'll need it. If I could give you 100,000 YDIs I would.

I bet even if the OP did have the courage do tell the truth, the school would probably disregard it as if the OP was covering for their son... either way the son is screwed...

Dignity? What dignity? Ace job at parenting, ************.
