you're an idiot
To be quite honest, she probably should have just been straight forward with you. It's not like people can read minds.
All hail lord gamma
I know girls tend to expect men to be mind-readers, but, based on the content of that conversation, it seems like she was at least initiating a conversation about plans for Valentine's Day and, if you weren't busy, hoping you'd agree to a date. Unless she's a charismatic coworker or a very close female friend, I can't see how this could have been misconstrued as anything but an attempt to ask you out. As you stated, she started the conversation. Also, she made a point to say she didn't have plans for Valentine's Day. Maybe it's obvious to me, but, honestly, how did you expect the rest of that conversation to go? Girl: So, what are your plans for Valentine's Day? OP: Nothing. Girl: Oh, I don't have any plans either! OP: Cool. Girl: Yyyyep. *looks at watch* OP: *quietly clears throat* Girl: Welp, gotta take off! Game's starting in 15. OP: Yeah, I hear ya. Girl: Glad we had a chance to talk; work has been crazy lately! Have a good night! OP: Yeah, you too! Catch ya later! Have a bit more confidence in yourself next time; if you feel a connection, there's no shame in trying your luck!
So what if it was V-day, it's never too late to try. Ask her out!
ask her out now and pretend you understood her subliminal messaging but were too nervous to ask her out
How oblivious are you?
If she wanted to go on a date with him why didn't she just ask him herself? why does he have to be responsible for noticing a hint and asking her out?
It's really women's fault, most guys need it to be stated straight up, girls know this yet they still just "drop hints"
