By clueless - This FML is from back in 2014 but it's good stuff - United States - Irvine

Today, I realized that when a girl asks what your plans are for Valentine's Day and you say, "Nothing" and she responds with, "Oh, I don't have any plans either", it means she wants you to take her out. It took me three months to figure that out. FML

Ask her out, OP! Maybe a cute card/note and flowers? Doesn't have to be anything really expensive, but if you put a lot of thought into it, it'll show. Hopefully, she'll still be interested:) good luck!

I honestly don't think OP should go after that girl because the're probably totally mismatched. The girl went as far as asking him if he was free but wouldn't ask him out, so she's probably the type who will be subtle about everything. And OP couldn't catch the hint even thought she was as obvious as she could be without being explicit, so OP probably would be the kind that will never take her hints. They'll probably end up in an endless spiral of fights over silly things when OP can't read her mind and she can't just be direct. I've seem it happen a few times.

Ya know what is a lot sweeter than doing something romantic for her on valentines day? Doing something romantic for her on a day that men are not obligated to be romantic. I seriously think a guy doing something on a totally random day for me just because he wanted to means a lot more than him doing it on a day that he's "supposed to"
