Today, I had sex with a guy I've liked for ages. We were lying in his bed afterwards, and he mumbled the word "happy". I thought it was really sweet, until he repeated himself. "My girlfriend probably won't be too happy about this." FML

Guys, she could've had a distance crush thing goin on and just didn't know he was in a relationship.

You've known him for ages but didn't know he had a girlfriend? : I'm confused..

And that's an example of why sleeping with someone to start a relationship is a bad idea. Here's an idea: next time date that person first, even fall in love, then sex. It won't ensure that he's not dating someone else, but it should considerably reduce the risk.

Who says she wanted a romantic relationship with him? Maybe she literally wanted to bang..

and you slept with him without asking if he had a partner? ohhh Youre a spicy one

One shouldn't have to ask this question. He should have told her that he's seeing someone.

18, also the person in question could always lie and say they don't have a partner.

If I get that far with a guy, I expect that he's single if he is accepting my advances. It's not a question that needs to be asked. However, personally, I wouldn't get that far with a guy without knowing him aka knowing his relationship status...

I'm sure his girlfriend won't be too happy about him cheating. He should have told you instead of leading you on and waiting until after you slept with him. What a grade A douche bag.

Sorry OP, this probably hurts like hell right now, but him saying "my girlfriend probably won't be too happy" sounds like he has no intentions of telling her whatsoever. Do his girlfriend a favour, message her and explain that you didn't know he was single until after the deed was done. If he's slept with you behind her back, how many has he slept with behind her back? I'd want to know if I was in a relationship with a cheat.

Just for clarity: OP dose not state that she's know him for ages but that she has liked him for ages.... so in truth she's a stalker and should have known, but is simply too obsessed to care.

Explain how she's a stalker, please.

Oh yah! Bring on the downvotes, they bring me joy.

To be fair, that was an awful explanation. You can have a crush on someone without "stalking" them. OP could have simply went to school with the guy or maybe worked together or something where they met at some point and then went their separate ways and OP just couldn't shake the crush. Happens. Also, maybe she DID check him out on the Internet and he just didn't post much? Also happens There are a few possibilities, so...

If she stalked him on the internet she would definitely know his relationship status

You can hide your relationship status on Facebook from certain people. Presuming we're talking about Facebook, he could have the relationship on there to make his girlfriend happy, then hide it from everyone but her so he can keep doing...well, this.

The stalker joke was taken way too seriously. Even on the internet it should have been obvious. All of you have no humour. FYLives.

Thank you #80 for getting it. Thank you everyone else for failing Rule 14 of the internets.

People don't appreciate our YDI posts, because if you had known him for a long time you should have known he was in a relationship. You both ****** up maybe you can be **** ups together now. At least do the right thing now and make sure the third party knows. YDI

She didn't know he had a bf. Whether she 'should have' is irrelevant - you don't know the context. But when it came down to it - she thought he was single. This is not her fault

That's completely insane, you can't expect someone to know details about someone else if they're never told them. He slept with her knowing about his girlfriend, she slept with him unaware. Plus do you really think he would said he was in a relationship if he was aware OP was sexually interested in him? No, he would've lied. Get your head out of your ass OP clearly didn't ask to be the other woman.

This might suprise you, but guys who are willing to cheat aren't always that honest about their relationship status.

Sorry that you got used. Sharing the truth with his girlfriend is probably a key thing here. First of all it reflects your character, if you didn't know he was with somebody and you were played, you should speak up and let people know you weren't a totally willing participant in his cheating. Second of all, you will prevent her from being played again when he does this with somebody else. And finally, it's what the douche himself deserves

Hey, look at the bright side. At least YOUR boyfriend won't mind. Oh wait...
