Easy mistake

Today, I was at QuickTrip. As I was leaving, I passed a woman who was saying, "Stay!" very sternly through her open driver's side door. I smiled as I passed, saying, "Your dog wants to follow you huh? I've been there." She glared at me and said, "No. That's my son. He's mentally challenged." FML

Who the hell would leave their mentally challenged child alone in the car?!

what kind of mother says "stay" to her child? i don't care if he's mentally challenged or not, you don't talk to him like he's a pet.

Considering that she was the one leaving her mentally challenged kid in the car, I wouldn't take offense.

Today my Mom went to Quicktrip and left me in the car. She didn't care if I wanted anything from the store and told me to Stay. Then, the cashier asked her if I was a dog and she told them that her child is mentally challenged. FML

A lot of parents these days have leashes for their toddlers. I've seen them in public places. The "collar" looks like a 5-point racing seatbelt and the parents get a LOT of funny looks. This lady sounds like a bitch. You could've said, "Oh, sorry... What happened?" As to imply that the child's plight was her fault. Makes no sense, but one dick move deserves another.

i wouldnt worry too much about it.... its not like u knew who she was talking to

That's what the bitch gets for treating her kid like a dog!

Don't beat yourself up over it. Its not like you could see and her aggression was just her own issues. Not yours

Not that I promote leaving children in cars....but QuickTrip is a gas station. Maybe she just had to run in really quick. I always stayed in the car when my parents went in. DUH. But yea, not cool to talk to him like a dog.

Uhhh mentally challenged people are still human. Why would she talk to her child in a tone that people normally use for a bad pet and leave him/her in the car? F her life for treating her child like a dog.
