Today, I took my girlfriend to eat out at a restaurant. We chatted for an hour, and it all seemed to be going well, until she told me that she wanted to break up. Waiting for the bill and driving her home was the most painful time of my life. FML

"Would you folks like any dessert? No? You sure? You make such a cute couple, maybe I could recommend the shared sundae?"

Good luck, OP. But you were a nice guy for still paying.

Even after the breakup, you drove her home?

You should've let her find her own way home

I would have "went to the restroom" and left her ass there with the bill and no ride home

I'm so sorry this happened to you, but I honestly respect you taking the high road in this situation, and not acting on your hurt feelings. You clearly have a lot more patience and care than most people give you credit for, and I'm sure you'll find someone someday that will see that in you. Keep your head up, OP.

I was just there with my bf, but i had to drive him home.

i would have gotten up and walked out.

You shoulda said u need to use the bathroom n leave. Make her pay the bill and find another way home.

Dude. I wouldn't have paid or dropped her home. I would have paid for my half by leaving it on the table and left her ass there to call a cab.
