Nobody said she is in the right for hitting him. As with any violent situation, if you are able to leave or restrain the attacker, you should do so. The exception is if you are in danger for your life.

Too much generalization. I dare say many of the guys here would get their asses kicked if the girl happened to be a 3rd degree black belt. Or even one that knew some basic hand-to-hand combat skills.

Both sides of that coin are significant, however: Brute strength is useless if you can't land a decent punch or if the "weakling" your fighting gets in the first punch, directly upon your nose. Few people are willing to continue a fight after having their nose broken.
