Freaked

Today, I was walking on a path through a park by myself. I glanced at the ground and saw a shadow behind me. Thinking of an attacker, I screamed as loud as I could and began flailing my arms to ward him off. Turns out, it was a jogger. He had to stop due to his uncontrollable laughter. FML

What the hell is with all the paranoid women? If theres a shadow behind you it doesnt automatically mean that youre about to get raped.

Who the hell waves their arms to ward off an attacker? Are you dealing with a raccoon or a mugger here?

Oh common you could at least have looked behind you, or sped up, then you wouldn't have looked stupid, but cmon screaming? This would be so funny if the OP was a guy.

#13 and #19: I love you guys #14: u made a retarded double post. Of course the rapist is going to try for the hotter woman to rape and just hope she's a **** that likes it or something

Oops meant #15 not #14 about being a retard though #14 I could not disagree more

#15 Sure women are a million times more likely to get raped but it doesn't help being paranoid about everything. Especially checking the back seat in your car! That's just over the top, and why would someone know it was a woman's car without seeing who got out of it then waiting until you came back? Your parents are idiots to make you so paranoid. Be careful sure, but otherwise you'll end up doing stupid things like the OP.

technically....the OP could be a guy =D which makes the mental image of this happening even better lol and #19..i would have no problem not leaving the kitchen/laundry room if i were married to you..i would've moved a tv in there though so you can expect shit to get done...and morning sex? forget about it...I'd be hangin out in the laundry room

It didn't occur to anybody? Maybe it was so funny to the jogger because the author of this fml is a guy.... Now THAT's funny!!!

Y'know, the post NEVER SAYS it's a woman! It could have been a man.

#15 Actually, men are far more endangered than women. But it's true that they aren't aware of the risks. The positive thing about paranoia is that it makes you careful and therefore may help preventing. But usually, paranoids make the best victims. It is very easy to gain their trust if you know how to give them a feeling of security. Also, their credibility is low since many acquaintances can testify that they usually overreact and give false alarms. And since they already view themselves as possible victims, they are paradoxically more probable to give into that role: A self-confident person who perceives herself as a proud strong being will rather effectively defend herself because that behaviour is more in line with her self-perception. Most rapes don't occur in parks anyway... BTW, I also imagined the OP to be a guy. Otherwise, the jogger would probably be rather concerned about getting sued for sexual harassment...
