Hmm. Not a good situation... I mean, yes, he was incoherent, but still. If you're engaged you would hope you've been together long enough to replace her in his head. I suppose it depends on how long the two of them were together, as well. If they had been together for years, he's obviously going to still think about her now and then. However, even my boyfriend, who admitted to me before we started dating that he was really hung up on his ex, has never called me by her name, and I've done similar things (because morning sex is just awesome). It must have hurt a bit, OP, but I don't think you can really base any firm assumptions off this. Maybe if it happens again, bring it up to him gently, but one instance, when he is super groggy...

people are capable of feeling love for more than one person and wether we admit or not most people still have feelings for those they were dumped by or broke up with so yes he probably still has feeling for his ex but the important thing is that he is with op and hopefully is staying faithful to her

I agree with others who have said he might have been dreaming about her in a platonic way and your stimulation changed the dream. I was dreaming about lunch with my best friend once when my fiance groped me in my sleep. it changed the dream in a way my brain didn't intend.
