Today, I was woken up at 3:00 am to the sound of a tape recording of a baby crying, loudly. This has been going on for 3 nights, non stop. Why? because I brought up the subject of having a baby with my wife. Clearly, you can see where she stands. FML

For all of you saying "it's her choice" you're right but also realize thats this is a a major issue in a marriage and can lead to divorce. It's unfair for him to force her to become a mother and it's also unfair for her to expect him to spend the rest of his life without ever knowing what it's like to become a father (if he stays with her). Children don't suck, it's all in how you raise and discipline them.

or for that matter, some of your friends who merely want kids someday. I bet they'll change their tune and start envying the child-free lifestyle once they're changing diapers and their marriages fall apart!

If you guys didn't discuss this before you got married, then YDI. If you have and she changed her mind about it, then FYL. You do need to evaluate what you want in your life. If you want kids that badly, but she doesn't, you two might not ever be happy together and constantly resent each other. It's a big issue. There's a chance that she might change her mind down the road or you might change your mind, especially if you guys are younger, but who knows.

#140 What the heck is wrong with you? Don't know about you but the society I am part of has LONG passed the point where only point in life was to "make babies". And no, just because people CAN have babies it does not mean they SHOULD. It's like and idiot would come to you and say "hey, you have a ******. It's meant for sex so let's just **** here". And you know what? You have brain. That's one thing you actually should use.
