Today, I was woken up at 3:00 am to the sound of a tape recording of a baby crying, loudly. This has been going on for 3 nights, non stop. Why? because I brought up the subject of having a baby with my wife. Clearly, you can see where she stands. FML

For all of you saying "it's her choice" you're right but also realize thats this is a a major issue in a marriage and can lead to divorce. It's unfair for him to force her to become a mother and it's also unfair for her to expect him to spend the rest of his life without ever knowing what it's like to become a father (if he stays with her). Children don't suck, it's all in how you raise and discipline them.

Just a very small taste of what's coming if you DO have a baby together. A few nights of interrupted sleep is just the beginning. After that the roller coaster ride just gets steeper and more twisty. She sounds like an amazing woman but the sex will mostly be missing from your life for a long time after she pops one out. Ready for that too? you really have no idea how drastically your life will change with kids. Ask your friends that have em about it. You'll get an earful.

Not necessarily. People who have made that mistake are eager to see others in the same boat. The way they'll paint it will be all wine and roses. Don't believe me? Tell some of your childed friends that you're never having kids.

Aww, man, that's something you should have discussed before getting married. That's sad though. :( I love kids (the non-bratty, raised correctly ones), and I would be extremely sad if I could never have any of my own. Raising a child is a long and difficult process but absolutely worth it.

Well.. if you're ok with the recording (which you don't seem to be) then it's just a taster of what having a baby is like. So, if you're ok with it, then... seems like you'll make a great father. And what's with these FMLs... shouldn't people discuss having children (amongst many other things) before they make a life long commitment???? It should have been decided before you got married, right??

And, shouldn't they be making a commitment to each other before they make a commitment to raise a child? Really, it is the other side of the coin. People marry without knowing important stuff and people have kids without thinking about the consequences and commitments involved.

43: They may have discussed it prior to marriage. My coworker's wife said she wanted kids before they married but changed her mind soon after they tied the knot. Years later, he's a bitter man and no kids. I told him that's grounds for divorce and to marry a woman who wants kids.

FYL. It's really sad for you, but I understand your wife, although she's rather childish for waking you up in the night and avoiding a good, serious talk. My boyfriend wants children, I don't. There is a chance we once might get married, and there is a chance we once might be in the same situation. **** your life, bro.

haha kids are evil. babies cry, toddlers hit and scream and throw temper tantrums, preteens are annoying...and teens don't listen to you XD i never listen to my mom
