Today, I was supposed to finally go out with my guy friend that I have liked for a long time. He told me he would text me, and after waiting for hours for the text, I finally got it. It said, "Guess what!? I just got laid!" He forgot our date, had it off, and I congratulated him. FML

Hm. It amuses me how many people are degrading the OP for congratulating the friend. I thought it was very mature on her part and showed that being friends with this guy is more important than her probably fleeting crush on him. It also actually SHOWS the fact that she does have strength because she didn't flip out and show the typical weepy/bitchy traits associated with this type of situation. In my opinion, kudos to you, OP, for showing that not everyone on this site is an emo retard.

It does not make you an "emo retard" to not congratulate the person you like when he bangs some other girl while he's supposed to be hanging out with you. Whether you congratulated him or not, you should not have made it seem ok that he ditched you. Even if he didn't think it was a real date, it is still disrespectful and immature behavior. On the other hand, he clearly doesn't feel the same way about you as you do him. So, maybe it's time to try and find a guy who's actually into you?
