Unfortunately some mothers are so uptight, old fashioned and dirty minded that they see sexual deviancy where none exists. I know because mine was like that too. It's an expression of the gutter that is her own mind, buried under a cloak of respectability. Why else would they automatically put a sexual interpretation of the most innocent of acts? In my case, my mother lived in fear that I would inherit my birth mother's 'ways' - I was born to a 16 year old unmarried mother, which in the 60s was a big deal. OP's mother obviously has her own issues, but it's no excuse to treat her daughter like that.
