Today, it was my birthday. My parents got me a box of cupcakes. My brother got me a deck of cards. My aunt got me a brochure on how to quit smoking. I have diabetes, I don't play cards, and I don't smoke. FML

how can they be grateful for completely shitty presents with no thought at all?

shut up, shitface. Like it's her/his fault that her family doesn't know her.

reminds me of the time my eldest sister got me a toy electronic keyboard for six year olds and up. I was 13 at the time. I'm very sure that she didnt think to well of me at that time. heh heh. thought still counts right?

umm do you not understand that a box of cupcakes and diabetes gets you in the emergency room? do your research.

Do you even take the time to check your spelling and grammar before you post?

Apparently not. Or they're just mentally retarded.

I'll go with the former. Most mentally challenged people can barely speak right, let alone type on a computer.

wow I have horrible spelling but that's just sad...

At least the abbreviations were correct...?

my special needs cousin does type better then that... also he proofs before he sends

Like what? He needs to take up a life of gambling, smoking and pancreas transplants?

Wow. Your family knows you that much. haha. Happy Birthday anyways :D

I have crappy birthdays to. Just get them crap when their Birthdays roll around.

Why, because they didn't get him the typical expensive gifts most families give their children? You know not a lot of people in this day and age have a lot of money. It's the thought that counts.

The thought counts but why spend money you might not have on things they can not use? Seems like a waste of money/ paper

I agree with 29, but the whole "thought that counts" thing doesn't really seem to apply here. if OP's family had put thought into OP's birthday present, they probably would have been able to come up with something she would like instead of things that she won't/can't use.

Being thoughtful is not equivalent to grabbing some random object off the counter and giving it to someone for a birthday present (which is what these people may as well have done to OP). That is not thoughtful at all; that is showing that you obviously don't give a shit about the person or his/her birthday. You don't have to put a whole lot of money into getting something nice for a loved one. I don't know how many times I've gotten decent gift items for 10 bucks or less at Walmart. I've gotten people several items like this: jewelery, coffee mugs, tshirts, etc. Instead of just throwing some random object at her because they feel like they have to, they could at least put some kind of effort into it. It's not that hard.

giving someone who does not smoke doesn't require too much thought.

You might want to rephrase your sentence, there, dear. It doesn't make too much sense.

op is a such a bitch because her family does not care about her. you are sooo right.

*person above* have you never heard of sarcasm? ahole

So? Eat the cupcakes anyway, learn to play cards, and start smoking, then quit using the brochure. Problem solved bitch.
