I believe this FML, because this actually happened to my friend's brother. He's 20 and he was grounded when he told his mom that he faked sick a couple times when he was in high school. He lives in his own apartment, but it happened when he came to visit one time. Some parents are a little crazy, I guess.
So why didn't he go back home? I would've.
Come one, if you're going to make something up, let it be funny.
I think the point of the FML *is* that the mom is crazy enough to try this. If not, then someone needs a motherectomy.
How can your mom ground you when you don't live with her and you're not dependent on her at all?
