What a lousy seeing-eye dog. It's only worth dragging a handicapped human being across the ground behind you for bacon. Any decent seeing-eye dog would have known that.
At least you did not throw something for it to fetch, you could have taken the owner for a ride.
Oh that's such a horrible situation - a simple mistake many people would probably make. I'm sure you apologised ;)
I don't know if I'd say "many" people would make this mistake. I'm sure most people would notice the vest the dog would be wearing. And also, it's not polite to just give people's dogs food, sometimes for health or behavioral issues, so I would hope that most people would ask first. :P
Your lucky OP, some people get really bent if you feed their dog
Did the owner turn a blind eye?
But a badly trained seeing eye dog, they shouldn't be that impulsive, not even about food. Just imagine someone throwing a half eaten hot-dog or something out of a car or into traffic.
which kind of dog is the seeing eyes dog?
Obviously the dog wasn't trained very well. They aren't supposed to act like that while working.
Despite the dog obviously not being trained very well, how could you fail to see the working harness?

I bet the owner didn't see that coming.
A proper seeing eye dog should actually never accept treats from strangers.
