I didn't see you there

Today, I tossed half a sausage to a dog sitting beside a park bench. It wasn't until he lunged for it and dragged the man beside him off of the bench that I realized it was a seeing eye dog. FML

I bet the owner didn't see that coming.

A proper seeing eye dog should actually never accept treats from strangers.

First off you should never feed someone else's animals. Ever. Second the dog.clearly had not been trained properly. One of the grad students that teaches my class is training her pit bull to be a service dog and she's just in the beginning stages of training and she wouldn't even do that

Yes a true seeing eye dog should have never had done that... But then again maybe the blind SOB hasnt fed the poor thing.

That dog obviously wasn't trained right, because seeing-eye dogs are trained to be cool and composed.

Today, my incompetent seeing-eye dog dragged me off a bench because a sausage came within 5 yards of him. FML.

Basically all well trained dogs don't take treats from strangers (not just seeing eye dogs). There are a lot of reasons, why you should train your dog very early on not to accept treats without your consent. Where I live some animal haters used to "spike" sausages with razor blades (or rat poison) and lay it out in parks which are frequented by dog owners. Needless to say, those things are a danger to the lives of the poor dogs. And it also saves you from trouble when you take your dog for a walk, while he or she is on a diet for health reasons. So really, train your dogs right. They deserve that much from you.

you shoul not feed other peoples dogs. my dog can't eat human food because then he gets diarea.

well don't you think you should be asking before feeding other people's dogs?

Iagree with 89. All dogs are opportunists. Don't feed strange dogs. I use a seeing eye dog and the clowns that try to feed the dog anger me.
