Impressive

Today, I met my boyfriend's parents for the first time. In his front room was a giant parrot. Hoping to impress them, I went over to the bird and began talking to it proving I wasn't scared. Out of nowhere, it's beak clenched onto my nose making it gush blood on the carpet. I was hospitalized. FML

okay, 1. you try to impress your boyfriends parents by.. talking.. to a .. bird? wow... 2. Did the bird rip open the cage, or did you open the door and shove you head in? your life is pretty f***ed

I just have to say, it makes me laugh really hard that the advert on the side of this page is for some fancy parrot cage.

Bird fail. @ the conservatory in my town, there's these huge macaws, if you put any part of your body even close to the cage they try to bite it. XD

Yes, while parrots are able to mimic sounds and words, they are basically impossible to train. There is not much of anything you can do to keep them from squawking nonstop when you are not holding them, then randomly biting you when you are holding them. My mother has four parrots in her house, and has for years. They just cannot learn to be quiet and not bite the hand that feeds them, in my personal experience.

Could've been a lot worse! At least he didn't go for your eye, right?

Hahaha thats what you get for being a fake and pretending to like the bird..as long as the mother wasn't carrying it around dressed in babys clothes I doubt she would care if you liked it or not..and if you got close enough to the cage to get bit your an idiot and if the bird wasn't caged then that probably means it was never vicious and it probably just sensed you were trying waaaay too hard

I don't get it. Why would you try to impress someone by talking to a bird?

Paging Dr. Darwin. Dr. Darwin to the ER.

You leave less than a foot between you and a bird you don't know that can easily crack walnuts with its beak? I say you kinda deserved that one. It could have ripped off your finger if it wanted to.

ohhhh noooo! i am soo sorry. why were you so close to the cage ?

I hope that you arent horribly disfigured by this bird attack. Oddly, any other FML that ends in injury the common chorus of the comments is "I would SUE them!". Whats the difference this time guys? Ok, I know you cant sue a parrot, but surely the parents should let know that he's not safe to get close to.
