Jesus saves

Today, I found out that shutting off the heat in the rental property my parents owned was a bad idea. The water froze and the pipes burst, causing the whole kitchen ceiling to fall down. The water ruined the wood floors and the appliances. I turned off the heat to save money. FML

it's perfectly fine to shut off the heat but you need to remember to shut off the water and drain the pipes. FYI for future reference, though I don't think they'll ever let you be responsible for it again.

YDI, its common sense to leave a house at 45-50 degrees when nobody is residing there to keep pipes from freezing, or atleast i thought it was. lol I guess your next payment to the tuition of life was due....

FYL, but if it makes you feel better, Al Gore is damn proud of you!

You're both probably poor since you're bragging about money on the internet. But at least #36 can spell.

If your parents are rich, they should consider shelling out some cash for a f**king English tutor.

you listed yourself as a male....this does not sound like a male thing to do...

I concur. Maybe 'he' is in fact a eunuch? Either way, serious man-fail.

I really hope you live somewhere warm and your parents just randomly have a property in Jersey. That would make this mildly less bad.

You know, there is a setting on your boiler shaped like a little snow flake. This is what we call the frost setting, maybe use it next time?

As someone that grew up in the warm south, I have no idea what a boiler even is (in regards to house temp management).
