#31 theres a difference between not wanting your kid to have a piercing and not loving a kid because they have a piercing. and theres better ways of warning your kids to not have a piercing. she could have said " some kids like to have rings in their noses but they usually have difficulty finding jobs because other people dont like it" or " she likes it but she might get made fun of it for by other kids" or just simply you have to be 18 to have one. she didnt have to make a harsh judgement on someone elses family life because her kid asked a simple question.

i agree the mother said something rude. should should have said something neutral. however, i have to say you deserved it. anything about your appearance you can alter tells others about yourself. if you don't clean up or look messy, means you're a slob or really poor. if you dress really flamboyantly and is a guy, you're most likely gay (i didn't say 100%, just most likely), if you wear something skimpy, you're most likely a **** or a *****, you wear baggy jeans and an oversized t-shirt and maybe some bling, you're a ******-up kid who thinks being 'gangsta' is cool. in conclusion, you asked for the negativity (although the mother is also in the wrong) because you can tell a lot about a person about how they present themselves.
