Today, at work, I screamed, used one of my employees as a human shield, dove for cover, and cried. Why? A bat flew into my store. Bats scare me shitless. FML

As a fellow female who is not the least bit scared of bats (they're cute!) I call you a wimp. They're not the stereotypical blood-drinking menaces they're potrayed to be. They're not stupid and won't fly into you. If they have raibies its different but that goes for ANY animal.

I have had a bat fly into me. It confused me, because you're right; in most normal situations bats wont fly into you.

Fears aren't necessarily rational. You don't need an actual reason to be scared of something. I freak out when a butterfly comes too close. Are normal people afraid of butterflies? No. Does it makes sense to them? No. Does it make sense to me? Yup.

Everyone, I seriously doubt OP has a phobia. Just because someone wigs out about something, doesn't mean they automatically have a phobia. They could, in fact, just be a stupid twit. For example... people getting all panicky about Arabic people. Is that phobia? No that's just them being stupid twits.

It doesn't matter if it's a phobia or not. I lose my shit if a butterfly or any nasty insect comes too close to me, but is it a phobia? No. I'm just deathly afraid of them and that doesn't mean I'm stupid.
